LAZIO

Lazio is located in central Italy.The Italian capital is Rome which is also the location for the headquarters of the Vatican City.
It stretches from the Apennines to the Tyrrhenian Sea and is crossed by the river Tevere.
The landscape is hilly and full of lakes but it has also a small mountainous part and a flat area near the coast.
Lazio is often considered "the origin of the western civilization” rich in history and culture ... you really " breathe“ history when you walk on the ancient streets. ...Any description of the unforgettable beauty of Lazio would be redundant and not enough to highlight its great beauty and historical, artistic, cultural and natural heritage...
Rome is also called the "eternal city" for its twenty-seven centuries of history that range from the foundation to the modern times. With its magnificent Colosseum, one of the most impressive works of the imperial era, the Roman Forum, the Spanish Steps, Piazza di Spagna and Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Villa Borghese park, the St. Peter's Basilica, the Capitol/ Campidoglio and many, many other monuments, Rome has still a special attraction for tourists from all over the world.
The region is also
famous for its thermal waters that lead back to the Roman times during which was built extraordinary examples of different beautiful lavish spas….a good example are Terme di Caracalla/ Baths of Caracalla.
The region is also full of
ancient villas like Villa d'Este with its beautiful fountains Villa Adriana, considered by UNESCO an important World Heritage.
The sea and its coast is another major attraction with its
charming villages: Gaeta, the Islands of Ponza, Sabaudia, San Felice, Circeo, Terracina, Formia.
The lakes are also a great natural heritage:
Lake Bracciano, Vico Lake, Lake Bolsena, Lake Mantignano, Monterosi and Mezzano, Albano and Castelgandolfo as well as the rivers Tevere, Liri and Velino.
The whole natural, historical, cultural and artistic heritage offers visitors unique memories and strong emotions!

  • Lake Bracciano: volcanic origin, a popular beach resort lake
  • Lake Martignano: volcanic origin and destination of national and international tourism
  • Lake Vico: volcanic origin, surrounded by the Cimini mountain chain
  • Lake Bolsena: considered the largest volcanic lake in Europe and that has two small islands: Martana and Bisentina. Bolsena is particularly visited by tourists. In the region can be found numerous campsites, farmhouses and bed & breakfasts.
