AOSTA VALLEY
It is surrounded by four of the highest mountains of Italy and Europe: Monte Bianco, Cervino, Monte Rosa and Gran Paradiso.
As a predominantly mountainous region it obviously attracts for the nature with its beauty as well as for sport activities that can be practiced but also for its gastronomic traditions.
A cuisine based on simple but tasty dishes, faithful to ancient meat traditions accompanied by a good red wine.
Aosta Valley cuisine is also rich in wild game meat and among the tasty examples we find "mocetta" or chamois or ibex ham.
Some dishes that we recommend are: cheese, mushroom or venison polenta…
Climbing the mountains can be done by professionals, but those who are unfamiliar with mountaineering can use the service lifts, near Courmayeur, which is one of the most important ski resorts in the world as well as an ancient resort of rare beauty and charm.
