PIEMONTE

The pearl of the north!

Piemonte region is located in the northwest, near the sea and the border with France.
It is considered to have some of the best italian wines, like Barolo.
Many consider that it also has the best gourmet dishes.
The distances are short and during a weekend you have the time to see many things.
If you want to stay longer in Piemonte there are many things you can visit ... the Riviera, the Alps and Milan.
Piemonte is not well known by foreign tourists so take the chance and visit it well!
The high season is during the months of October and November, when people come here from all over Europe for the wine harvest and for the truffles but also the winter months are beautiful in Piedmont.
Alba is the center of the truffle and here are organized different festivals and feasts dedicated to the truffle, but most of the towns and villages of Piemonte are worth a visit as many are still relatively untouched by tourism.
The dialect spoken here is a mixture of italian and french.
Outside the beautiful city of Alexandria there is a big outlet.
Asti is famous for its sparkling white wine, Asti Spumante.
Piemonte is a region entirely surrounded by the Alps, full of many ski-equipped areas often connected with each other, where you can ski for days without ever passing by the same place, with slopes of varying difficulty.

The mountains of Piemonte are the ideal place to relax and have fun.
In winter the Alps are transformed into the "White Galaxy", a great system dedicated to snow sports lovers, able to offer skiers over a thousand kilometers of ski runs managed by avant-garde centers.
Those who practice ski can plan a journey to discover the numerous valleys, thanks to the many ski paths that connect the different valleys. The tour starts from the slopes of the
Marittime Alps and ending on the peaks of the Lepontine Aips in the area of Cusio Ossola in Verbania.

During the summer, once the white scenery is gone, the landscape changes and the valleys get covered with colorful trees, fragrant flowers and fruits that attract wild animals of different species.
In every valley you can follow many paths at varying difficulty.
Those who want to trek can follow Via Alpina route: about 1,000 miles of footpaths and well equipped shelters where to stop and relax.
Alps of Piemonte are also an important cultural place, which preserves significant historical sites such as the Fortress of Fenestrelle, between Susa Valley and Chisone Valley, a defense system entirety open to visits, known as the "Chinese wall" because of its three km long.

The main ski areas in Piedmont: the mountains to the west, Cuneo valleys to the south, with Monviso, Valsesia and Ossola valleys to the north, Monte Rosa and the lakes, valleys of Lanzo and Canavese to north-west,
Gran Paradiso National Park
For those looking for more secluded and wild places, to experience the pure pleasure of skiing, we recommend Valcurone in the area of Alessandria and the valleys in the area of Biella.
