TUSCANY

Located in central Italy, Tuscany extends from Apennine to Tyrrhenian Sea and with its great charm attract both local as international tourism.
The territory is rich in green areas, hills, parks and nature reserves, lakes and rivers but also in history, culture and art.
It would almost be enough to count
Florence with its rich history and art, collecting the art works of the greatest exponents of Humanism and the Renaissance, with its beautiful streets, squares and churches that testify its glorious past…. to proclaim the city as one of the most popular and visited in the world.
The historical and artistic heritage, however,
can boast many other Tuscan towns worth a visit: Siena with the wonderful Piazza del Campo, Pisa with its Leaning Tower and the Baptistery, other small tuscan villages where can be experienced a medieval atmosphere: San Gimignano, Fiesole, Montepulciano e Volterra.
Tuscany is a region of different aspects: the coast alternates
long sandy beaches like those in Versilia with rocky cliffs, islands surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, a clear blue sea with rich fishing grounds, unspoilt scenery of the Apuan Alps, nature reserves (Valombrosa, one of the most beautiful nature reserves, the Island of Monte Cristo or Camaldoli with its beautiful forests), towns rich in history, castles, fortresses, churches, valleys (the beautiful Valley of Chianti between the province of Florence and Siena has always been considered the heart of old Tuscany, well-known worldwide for its famous wines and ideal for those wishing to take a trip through the vineyards, hills and picturesque villages), famous Spa where to spend relax holidays (Saturnia, Montecatini Terme, Bagno Vignoni, Chianciano Terme, Rapolano, San Casciano). ...not to be forgotten the excellent Tuscan cuisine….. the delicious steak "Fiorentina", meat cooked on charcoal or wood fire, various fish dishes, wonderful desserts like "buccellati di Lucca" and "cantucci di Prato" but also a good glass of Chianti…the most famous Tuscan wines, internationally known…

Tuscan Lakes

  • Lake Massaciuccoli: on its shore can be found the house of Giacomo Puccini
  • Rivers: Arno and its tributaries form fertile valleys covering about one third of the Tuscan region, making it fertile and green; it starts from Mount Falterona and flows through Florence and Pisa and than into Tyrrhenian Sea. It is navigable for small boats
