In a sheltered sunny valley in Brenta Dolomites can be found the ski resort of Madonna di Campiglio, called the "Pearl of the Dolomites".
In Valle d'Aosta region there is the mountain resort of Courmayeur, internationally renowned as popular ski resort and famous for both leisure and business tourism.
Cortina d'Ampezzo, another ski resort, one of the most beautiful and fascinating in the Dolomites, with its light red rocks and stunning views is located in the northern part of Italy and is well known as “Cortina” due to the fact that the Olympic Winter Games 1956 were organized here.
