Cuisine and Wines: Region Campania’ s cuisine made Italy known worldwide thanks to the pizza that reflects the taste and simplicity of an entire country.
The Neapolitans, ingenious people, invented it while they were looking for a simple dish but at the same time nutritious. Originally, the pizza was white, just pasta and mozzarella; the tomato was introduced after it was imported from America.typical dishes are "rraù" or the “guardiaporta sauce”, a dish made with lard, ham fat and thin slices of veal stuffed with cheese, garlic, pine nuts, raisins and parsley; “squids alla napoletana” enriched with pine nuts and black olives and among the desserts the cake “pastiera napolitana” made with ricotta cheese, orange and Babà.

Among the region's typical grape varieties we find Trebbiano, Sangiovese, Malvasia, Greco and Aglianico, while among the wines that are produced here, the most famous and appreciated are Procida and Vesuvio as red wines and Lacrima Christi, Ischia and Capri among the whites.
